Hawaii 2010

Brief but Fantastic 4-day trip to Waikiki! Chance to Thaw out from Alaska Winter and soak up some much needed SUN!

- Waikiki as viewed from our Whale watching tour boat

- Which Hotel is ours? Just one building left of the Rainbow tower, in the lovely Hilton Hawaiin Village Resort.

- A great day to be on the ocean (think goodness for my Scop anti-motion sickness patch)

- What the Hell?! Flying Fish?! They really do exist and actually Fly!

- Whale Sign! Pretty difficult to take pictures of a whale when you have no idea where it is going to pop up at, plus the rocking boat, other tourists getting in the way....

- Segway tour. What a blast! Thing practically drives itsself - hey, if a 62-year old lady with a bad knee can do it, anyone can do it! That lady happens to be the Mother-in-Law..... If you are ever in Waikiki, see AJ or Lane and they will take care of you at Segway of Hawaii - great folks!

Our First Trip to Hawaii!

The year was 1999 and this was our First trip to Hawaii. Only a 5 1/2 hour flight from frozen Anchorage to Paradise! We spent 1 week on Oahu in Waikiki having fun riding the Trolley around and doing the Tourist thing. A 2nd week was spent on the Big Island of Hawaii, which is a lot less crowded and slower paced, and has the active Volcano. Wow! Can't wait to get back....
